THINGS TO KNOW/FAQs:
Did you know that our festival is 100% volunteer planned and staffed? Even with all of our experience, planning, and preparation it’s inevitable that something will go wrong on Saturday. If you see something, please let a volunteer know but remember to be kind! We’re all working hard to give you the best day possible!
With that said, here are a few friendly reminders:
– McClellanville is a small town! Please carpool when possible and be patient as we pack literally 10 times the normal population in on Saturday. Better yet, come by boat!
– We sell beer. Lots of it. Coolers are not permitted on the festival grounds. Please also make sure you bring your ID! No ID, no bracelet. No bracelet, no beer.
– Space is tight! We want everyone to come and enjoy but we can’t permit visitors to set up tents or umbrellas along the water. They obstruct the view for everyone else and can become dangerous in the wind.
– This is a family event (even with the beer). Anyone being rude or disruptive will be escorted from the grounds. We reserve the right to remove anyone for poor behavior or bad dancing. Though we usually let the latter slide.
– Our craft vendors are awesome! They pay a small feel for their space and keep 100% of their sales so make sure you support them.
– We cook a ton of shrimp. Actually, it’s a little less than a half ton. Please don’t wait until 4:30 to try and get your shrimp dinner because we always run out. And yes – we increase the quantity every year. You people are animals!
– Speaking of animals, we have the same policy about them as we do about people. As long as they behave and don’t leave any “presents” for people to step in they are welcome. Leashes are recommended for 4-legged guests as well as poorly behaved 2-legged ones.
– The Knights of Columbus offer parking across the street for $10. This lot will close shortly after 5:00 so please plan accordingly. There is free parking on the street but please be considerate of driveways!
